Welcome to Teignmouth Weather Station website. The station is situated 500m inland on the eastern side of this South Devon coastal resort and is equipped with a Davis Vantage Pro 2 automatic weather station installed in May 2008. Live data is uploaded to this website every 10 minutes. Graphs showing conditions over the past day, week, month, 3 months and year are also available. Monthly and annual summaries will be added in the future. A simple summary of the local climate is provided for the time being. The National Coastwatch Institute (NCI) lookout at Eastcliff on Teignmouth sea front have an anemometer sited on their roof. It's manned during the summer from 09:00-18:00 and 10:00-16:00 winter. Call the duty watchkeeper on 01626 772377 and they can provide a current assessment of weather and sea conditions.
An official climate station on the Den near Teignmouth Pier is run by Teignbridge DC. The site meets strict criteria laid down by the Met Office. Daily manual climate observations have been made for over 100 years making it a very impressive & unique record of the town's weather. Recent data can be viewed online & a daily report is published after 09:00 GMT in the window of the Resorts Office by the pier.
An automatic weather station at Teignmouth Community College (TCC). Like this site, the instrumentation used don't meet the Met Office's strict criteria but the site provides an excellent overview of weather conditions at the College.
