Unlike most weather websites, I've combined forecast products with an archive of 25 years of daily weather observations recorded in southeast Sittingbourne between 1985 and 2010. This dataset provides one of the most complete long-term local weather records available for the area.

Sittingbourne Weather Station Details
My original Sittingbourne climate station operated from 1 January 1985 until early February 2010 in my parents' garden in southeast Sittingbourne, around 23 m above mean sea level (lat 51°19.9′ N, long 00°44.7′ E; OS Grid Ref: TQ 9124 6284). Daily observations were taken manually at around 0900 UTC and form the basis of the statistics presented on this site.
I made the observations during the 1980s and, from 1990 onwards, my dad, supported by family, friends and neighbours, helped continue the record.
The station measured temperature and humidity in a Stevenson Screen, together with rainfall, wind, snowfall, snow depth and other meteorological variables (except sunshine duration). Although the original observations remain in paper format, the summaries published here provide a detailed picture of Sittingbourne's climate over a remarkable 25-year period.
The record includes notable events such as the January 1987 cold spell, the Great Storm of October 1987, significant rainfall events during the 1990s and the exceptional heat of August 2003. These and many other events can be explored through the weather extremes and annual statistics pages.
