About this forecast

This forecast uses data from the Met Office DataHub, processed three times a day at 05:55, 11:55 and 17:55 UTC. It provides a detailed seven-day outlook for the town.

The table above shows 3-hourly forecast data describing conditions over the previous three hours. It includes temperature, wind, precipitation, visibility, UV index, snow chance and more. Daily maximum and minimum temperatures are also presented alongside 1991-2020 monthly mean values for Faversham (the nearest and most representative weather station with official long-term mean values available) which provide an indication of whether temperatures are above or below average for the time of year.

The table also includes several derived variables:
– Brolly? — an estimate of how likely you are to need an umbrella, based on the 3‑hour probability of precipitation and the expected intensity of any showers.
– Outdoor Drying — an estimate of how well laundry will dry outside. It combines air temperature, relative humidity, precipitation and mean wind speed to assess whether evaporation outweighs wetting. It assumes the washing is not in direct sun.
– Clothing — a simple suggestion of suitable clothing based on mean air temperature, wind speed and the “feels‑like” effect. It assumes you are in shade and not engaged in strenuous activity.
– Mugginess (Humidity Comfort) — a comfort measure based on dew point, which reflects how humid the air actually feels. Higher dew points reduce the body’s ability to cool itself, making warm days feel muggy or oppressive even when relative humidity appears moderate.
